Neumos Presents: Campfire OK with Loch Lomond & The Horde And The Harem
Thursday December 13th, 2012
Seattle’s Campfire OK have meticulously blended atmospheric indie pop and lyrical vocals to create a sound that is distinctly their own. To boot, they have stayed firmly rooted in their hometown’s tradition of musical experimentation and collaboration. Banjo, horns, acoustic guitar, dark psychedelia, and bursts of joyful sonic color weave in and out of their dynamic songs. The result is a sound that often builds like an impending thunderstorm, but is just as likely to evaporate into a blissful blue day.
FencePost called Campfire OK “a musician’s favorite group of musicians,” while the Seattle Weekly declared: “Campfire OK is one of those beautiful, restless entities that don’t stay in one place for too long, but still manage to write concise, focused songs. The band pushes the boundaries of the revival band stigma, incorporating subtle modern elements (synth swells and delay pedals) effortlessly atop the weathered antique frames of their songs” – Seattle Weekly
